How do you enjoy time alone?

Q: When you are alone what do you do?
A: That was sudden! (laughs)

Q: I think there are a lot of people who have started living along since Spring, and I’m sure they would like you to tell them how to spend time alone.
A: I think I’ll be a bad example of how to spend time alone. I always end up not know what would be good to do.
M: Yeah but what do you eventually do? Senpai
A: I end up playing things like games
M: Well that... isn’t helpful at all
A: It isn’t is it~ That’s because recently I’ve only been caught up in games. But, I know I shouldn’t do that so I wonder if I should voluntarily go out to eat with people. So I’ve been thinking of picking up communication with those people.
M: Well...
A: Like with maya? But you don’t really go out with big crowds...
M: I don’t do I~ When I’m alone I wonder if I’ll go to the movies. Is there one thing besides movies, games, and manga you can do by yourself? On the contrary, I want you go teach me.
A: You mean like jigsaw puzzles

Q: I don’t know if you can teach that.....
A: Maybe cooking, or musical appreciation...
M: Anything is fine right? How about taking a walk
A: Shopping

The truth is I don't...

Q: Are you a person who goes shopping alone?
A: Yeah. I only go alone because if I don’t have a purpose then I don’t go. And if I go to the extent of buying clothes I only go alone. Which is why I end up shopping on the internet. I almost don’t go to places like convenience stores either. I also can’t think of anything else but going to convenience stores for drinks but since I have a water server I end up not getting water either. I don’t buy anything in particular. Well, I guess I might go and buy water sometimes. Wait, what were we talking about again?     
M: How we spend time alone!
A: Aah.........The truth is I don’t know what I do alone.
M: What indeed. When I’m alone....all that comes to mind is going to Don Quijote.
A: What do you go shopping for?

M: Yasuda Yogurt
A: Isn’t it cheaper online?
M: Nope. If you think of the shipping its cheaper just to go and buy it
A: Oh. I see (maybe convinced)
M: Geez, our stories weren’t helpful at all.

Q: Really......Well, first of all, if you moved where would be a good place to start?
A: First, you need to explore the surroundings of the house! I think that part is really fun.
M: That’s normal. An absolute normal comment...
A: Hey! what’s with that....after all, if you’re a girl, wouldn’t you want a place where you can refine your cooking ability or something like that? Because I think it’s important how you use your own time. That’s a story of hindsight, well a long time ago, my mom used to make me things like homemade pound cake and pastries. Now, however, children like the taste of cheap sweets more than homemade ones, but in those days I didn’t realize the gratitude of that homemade taste, and even as I think of it now I get a warm taste in my mouth.
M: Eh!? What good story are you talking about!?
A: Huh!? Wait, what was the story in the first place? (Got off topic)

The topic about LM.C that rattled and appeared, this series is a relaxed talk. Now, this month’s topic is...?

Tell us how you would approach someone you liked

 -- If you were about to meet someone you liked, how would you approach them?

A: On this, Maya is easy to understand. At any rate, when it comes to things such as a girl I’m interested in, I get concerned about messing it up (laughs)

M: Certainly, without a doubt (laughs) It’s because I like regular girls that I’m easy to understand right? (laughs) Like everyday I’m just taken by somebody at first sight (laughs)

A: But, when you like someone the tension raises more and it's normal to be kind to everyone, so there are also signs that are hard to understand at times. 

-- Kinda like girls completely misunderstand you?
A: Yes just like that. I’m friendly so I think I give the impression that “maybe he like’s me” kind of appearance.

-- What do you do about it? How do you begin after being misunderstood.
M: Isn’t that love? It’s that okay though, if it begins even like that it’s started. Love is like, if you start running you can’t stop (wise saying)

-- Is that because it’s plagiarism? (having to mention who’s saying that was)

A: But I think the sure thing is there is still a sense of tension that varies. Like for example, if you send texts to a girl your considering there will probably be a lot of emoticons (laughs), and when you cool down from the initial stage, the mail will become plain.
M: Aah~ (understanding) There might be (laughs). But, about the mail becoming plain, you also get used to that kinda of proof of affection, but it doesn’t mean that you hate them, or have grown tired of them.
A: Maya, in the old days you used to send me mail often, and now a days it’s remarkably different.
M: Eh!? You want them? (laughs) Like “Did you sleep yet~~?” and what not!? If you do, I’ll send them, but isn’t that kinda creepy? (laughs) You know, I really don’t understand you senpai. I don’t understand love.

-- I feel like you don’t really have interests in concerns with women right? Only the smell of instrument and equipment.
A: Like only the smell of oil? But you know, the boiling point of passion seems certainly high and by no means has it been ignited by someone in particular, it hasn’t been ignited.
M: Why did you say that twice. You sound like a broken record (laughs). These kind of things are what makes senpai interesting. But this significance he has is in some sense a weapon.
A: Regardless of it concerning now? But, even I have the feeling everyday like “Ah! how cute” but I think there is a group of factors (to be considered) by being involved with somebody at first sight, and the previous feelings might not go away but from that I don’t start running after them.
M: Certainly, so you haven't had drama or waves with girls. That’s mysterious. You don’t have any? Drama I mean.
A: I haven't huh. For me, I can’t like someone who doesn’t try their best. Even if I think “they sure are cute”, but if that girl isn’t one who gives it their all in life then at once I become uninterested. That’s why, I can’t proceed beyond the initial point of attraction.
M: While you said that for some reason if I saw you in line for a handshake meeting for people like AKB48, that would definitely shock me (laughs).
A: I wouldn’t be waiting in line in the first place (laughs).
M: Maybe secretly. By the way hasn’t the desktop for your computer been just idols or something like that.
A: 100% no (flatly).

-- Hahahaha. For yourself if you met a girl you liked, how would you get her attention?
A: If I thought like “it’s her!”, I would push straight forward and I would probably be straightforward about it. I wouldn’t be so persistent in mail and stuff, but I would be sure to send at least one everyday. But, by no means do I want to go to the extent of her getting annoyed by it.
M: I think if I were to consider the path senpai analyzed earlier,  I would almost have no doubts ( laughs). But, if love start running you can’t stop!

LM.C Special Five Year Anniversary Project

How the quiz works: One at a time we’ll flip over a question. One of them will write the correct answer, the other one will write what they think is right, and at the same time they’ll flip over their answers and join together to discuss the results!

       Just how much do they know about each other quiz!

Q1: When at a sushi restaurant what are the 3 nigiri sushi toppings Aiji will definitely order!
M: Whelk, botan shrimp, and warships of sea urchin
A: Whelk, botan shrimp, and Himokyu (clam fringe with cucumber)
M: I hesitated a bit but, isn’t that amazing!? (How much they match)

 Q2: This year during the summer what was Maya’s clothing coordination like?

A: Well, because I also wore these pants often!

 Q3: What would be the number 1 condition Aiji would want in a marriage partner?
A: Good at cooking.
M: A degree of self-reliance.
A: That would be another one. (a self-relying person)
M: By that, do you mean a person who has money?
A: What’s with that unpleasant interpretation?
M: Huh? Did I make a mistake? Didn’t you say like “aim for a marriage of convenience! The dream is a marriage of convenience” or something like that? senpai?
A: I did not (flatly). Because I’ve never mentioned a dream like that, neither have I ever had that kind of view!

Q4: What are the kind of times that Maya who doesn’t usually drink will feel like drinking.
A: When he’s told to by me.
M: Overseas, and nights when we gather for a birthday party.
A: But, this (Aiji’s answer) isn’t like a distinct kind of “I can’t refuse a drink that’s offered by senpai” feeling.
M: Yeah. Exactly though its like, because I’m told to drink, I’ll drink but, it’s not because I think it’s tasty or want to, I just do it. But, only on birthdays or other special days like that!

Q5: What is one point Aiji thinks is cute about Maya?
M: One? I think there are a lot but just one huh?
A: There aren’t any.
M: I’m sure there are quite a few, like this and that. Now tell me!
A: Their aren’t any (flatly). But if I had to say something...
M: My sleeping face?

M: The shape of his ears.
A: Huh? I don’t get what you mean! Why my ears?
M: Alright, I mean your ears. I have a different feeling about senpai’s ears than other people, and it’s better to have self-confidence about it.
A: No it’s not!
M: Nope, It’s better to have self confidence! No doubt about it.


Q7: Is it because you can’t always see them, and once in awhile when you do you're startled by them or...?
A: Even though I’m surprised by Maya about this point, it’s unpleasant (laugh)
M: Certainly (laugh). But it’s not like that, I just think they’re a good shape. Furthermore, I suppose I’m seeking that kind of big reaction. So, it’s better to continue to cherish these kind of things. That’s the trick to being loved by senpai!
A: That’s kind of irritating
M: Even though I’m praising you

LM.C Interview Kera December Vol 148 (English)

Mr. Of This Month

This time we infiltrated the PV shooting for LM.C’s new single “LET ME’ CRAZY!!” which will be released October 17th☆ There we observed a precious offshoot not usually seen!

 

It’s the first single release for the commemoration of 5 years anniversary, we of course talk about this new single, ask about the future, and also the attention to their private fashion☆

Q: For this single did you decide on a concept or theme?
A: Well every time we don’t really decide on a concept we choose the song with the feeling like “next time what would be good to put out”.
M: We write the song and lyrics while always thinking it would be good if we could grow into something that is “a little more advance than the previous LM.C” most recent at the time. But I don’t usually think lets go to a whole other place, never.

Q: In regards to your songs, when I listen, there are a lot of lyrics that lift your spirits isn’t there? This time the lyrics also for “LET ME’ CRAZY!!” is like a view on the world that makes you want to move forward with courage.
M: Rather than me saying do your best to someone, the feeling of saying it while facing yourself is powerful. I don’t want to consciously think about making a supportive song, here is something about a “Ah--, what’s that I heard” kind of reaction that I like to look forward to. I have been thinking that the freedom of creation for each work have been able to increase. At present when I would compose for a lengthy time, I thought this would make the composition narrow but I was able to come to the point when I could say "I wanted it like this kinda of feeling".

Q: On October of next year you won’t approach a 5th year anniversary but it will probably be like 5 years right?
 A: There wasn’t really early years, because debut = activities started, though I think 5 years is different for everyone, but, completing every year, I’m able to think that every year is a blessing, I think is a wonderful thing.
M: I think if I decide on destination or goal, those things become added stress and pressure, but for the first year of the 5th anniversary, you just simply can’t help but have fun. And I guess we were allowed to make the history that has piled up.

Q: This time we intruded on the scene of the PV, so please also tell us highlights of the PV.
A: There aren’t a lot of PV’s that are shot with the same organization as a live so it’s close to a usual live, I think it would be nice if it translated a “band type feeling”.
M: Or so, the single in the fifth year after we came back after one whole year.

Q: The coupling track「No Fun, No Future」 for some reason seems half finished doesn't it?
A: Well.. that isn’t us is it? (laughs)
M: MAD AIJI doing vocals and MAD MAYA playing bass are in charge of this band called 「THE MAD LM.C」. They also are filming a PV so, if you look over some ways over there you’ll be able to see them.

Q: Who’s idea was this?
A: Maya’s.
M: Well, you could say that it's a project to liven up the 5th anniversary, because of this period it might have been why I thought of it all of a sudden.

Q: This year, isn’t there all sorts of planning?
A: There are a lot of things I want to do. Things that people in the fan club can enjoy, and things that people who aren’t in the fan club can enjoy.
M: I think we'll announce something or other at SHIBUYA AX in November.

Q: Finally, I would like to ask you also about fashion, but do you have a private thing you are curious about?
M: For me its not to catch a cold heading towards winter
A: Huh? That? (Laugh)
M: Well, I'm interested in earlier Western style clothing books. I don't ever buy things like magazines myself, but aren't there a lot of them in places like beauty salon? I think “Everyone must read these kinda of books if you buy such clothes”, but I don’t buy them (laugh). Kera! Is oriented towards girls isn't it? Well, I'll venture towards it and will use it as a reference.
A: Recently, for clothes I wanted a leather jacket, and about three days ago I was searching for one on the web for a long time. But, after all If you don't try it on then you don't really know how it fits huh? (laugh)

As soon as everyone settled into their seats the question and answer panel seemed to start up really quick. The translator welcomed in Maya and Aiji and they took their places at the front of the room. After getting settled people began to wave and say hi and Maya and Aiji politely smiled at everyone.

M: So its like this huh

C: -laugh-

T: Okay I’m sure you already the very well much more than I do, but allow me to have them introduce themselves.

M: Hello, I’m Maya
A: Hello, I’m Aiji

Maya checks to see if the microphone is on by going “Ah,  Ah” into the mic.
T: Its on
C: -laugh-

M: Thank you very much for coming to see us, I hope this panel will be fun.
A: How many of you came to our live yesterday?
C: -many people cheer and raise their hand-
A: Yesterdays’ live was the best, and it made me happy that you all came, and I hope today is just as fun

(A/N: The translator made it sound like there was another live so there was a bit of confusion but he corrected himself)

Q: Since we are at an Anime Convention, if you could cosplay a character who would it be?
M: I would cosplay the character Satoshi… I don’t know what he is called in America but the guy from Pokemon.
A: I would cosplay Captain Tsubasa (A/N: I couldn’t catch what anime it was from)

Q: What got you into music in general?
M: For me it was a band called X Japan when I listened to them when I was a kid
A: For me, I don’t know if you could call it what got me into music or not but it was a band called Buck-Tick, they were an early favorite.

Q: What inspires you to compose your music and the lyrics, like the format of the song and the stories of songs like Bell the Cat or 88?
M: When there is music already made I will get inspiration from the music itself, otherwise I get it from the daily life and what I feel and I’ll turn that into lyrics.

Q: What is your favorite song?
M: Can it be any song or just an LM.C song?
F: Any song
M: Ahhhh, I remember the music but I can’t remember the name of the title.. Its an American song, “We are” something… I can’t remember -laughs- (a bit more of sounds and pauses) sorry I still can’t remember -laughs- let me think a bit more
A: For me I have too many to choose from but, the first song I heard when I came to Chicago was Frank Sinatra’s My Way.
M: I still can’t remember -laughs-

Q: How do you guys like to tune your guitars and what kind effects do you use on stage?
M: You mean the way we tune?
A: For six strings its drop C with C sharp on the last string

Q: What inspires your on stage costumes, do you decide them or do you consult with a stylist?
A: When talking about the stage costume, me, Maya and the stylist have the brand groucho, and that’s what we use for costumes.

Q: What do you think of us, do you think we are weird?
M: I don’t like talking about somebody else cause we are all the same but I see many people cosplaying and dressing in different fashions and just like anyone else we are also expressing ourselves by having an original style and taking inspiration from things we like but the important part is we are expressing ourselves and it makes us happy but wether or not we are strange is a different matter.

Q: What are some weird things that have happened to you on your tour?
A: Ah~ It’s changed (topic) -laughs- For instants just yesterday during the live someone just suddenly came up on the stage. The person that came up timed in perfectly that even the staff thought he was part of the show, but we noticed he smelt like alcohol so the staff had him kicked out.
M: Wasn’t he suppose to be Pikachu?
A: Was he!?
M: He was a good Pikachu -laughs-

Q: Do you have any animals or like any animals?
M: I personally don’t have any but at my parents house we have a dog.
C: -couple of people clap-
A: Why the clap? -laughs-
A: I have a cat of my own from last year, Sora
C: -more people cheer and clap-
A: Seems like there are more people that like cats than dogs
C: -people in crowd start saying the have dogs-
A: Ah there are quite a few (dog fans)

Q: Who have been your biggest support other than the fans on this journey throughout this whole experience?
M: Our group of members that have traveled with us.
A: Since it just two of us, our supporting members cause there is no way we could have all this fun without them.

Q: What is your favorite food?
M:Ah~ Sushi.
F: What kind of fish?
M: I like shellfish.
A: For me I like fruits especially peaches.

Q: What do you think of Chicago?
A: Chicago is great, but I haven’t been outside the hotel that much yet. We are looking forward to having some extra time to look around and find all the good places in town.

Q: When Yoshiki was here last year he didn’t eat Chicago pizza, have you had Chicago pizza yet?
A: Yes, that was the first thing we had.

Q: How do you get pumped up for lives?
A: In our case we are like this until right before the concert starts. When the opening sound effects start playing and we are right about the go up on the stage, instantly our moods change.

Q: Do you have a favorite English word or phrase?
A: Sorry we aren’t well studied so we don’t have one
M: Are there any good words we should know?
C: You don’t want to know the swear words
M + A: -laughs-
M: Do you all have favorite Japanese words or phrases?
C: -start nodding their heads and saying yes-
M: Could you tell us?

Someone for the crowd says hour glass, and Maya and Aiji were both surprised and kinda laughed. She then goes on to tell a long story about her life. Others were like interesting, I don’t speak Japanese, painful, I love you…. etc

Q: Can I hug you?
T: Is that a question or your favorite word
F: A question
M: Only in your mind
A: -laughs-

Q: Is there any well known musician abroad that you don’t really like?
M: Someone who is living? Ahhhh
A: Is there? Ummm well I would have to consider LMFAO our rivals.

Q: Why are you guys so cute?
A: What part of us is so cute?
C: Everything!!
A: Really?!
M: Thank you~ -laugh-

Q: What was it like being able to play at Budokan earlier in January?
M: It was the best, do you guys know the importance of Budokan?
C: -some say yes and some head nodding-
M: I would like it if you came next time, Ah you were there!? Wow!
A: Thank you! Did you go with family or…?
F: Only the two of us
M + A: Thank you very much

Q: Before coming here did you have any pre-thoughts about what people were like?
M: Is there? I don’t think so…
A: Its hard to think, you don’t know until you see it in front of you
M: I don’t know if I should say something about something I can’t understand but I have this image that Americans are always drinking Coke.
A: It suits them though like.. -imitates opening a can of coke-
C: -laughs-
A: Its cool

Q: What kind of girls do you like?
M: Well~ As long as she is living that’s fine with me
A: A person that supports and trusts themselves are very attractive

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
M: I wonder, but when you asked the question I suddenly remembered being carried by my grandmother on her back.
C: Awwwww
M: - laughs- But there are many others of course.
A: I used to swim seriously and I wasn’t successful so I was broken hearted but that is what prompted me to music so now I think of myself as lucky I was unsuccessful.

Q: What is your favorite car in terms of speed?
M: Car?
A: We aren’t really into cars, so we don’t know any names -laughs-

Q: This has probably been asked before but how did you decide on the name “LM.C”
M: We choose the name cause we wanted a name we could create a meaning for.

Q: In your free time do you have any sport you like to watch?

A: I like to watch Soccer.
M: Recently I’ve wanted to try and watch Tennis.

Q: When you were young besides wanting to be a musician what did you want to be when you grew up?
M: At first I wanted to become a police man, I can’t remember why specifically but it was probably because I thought their uniforms looked cool. 
A: Until about five years old I wanted to be a baseball player.

Q: What was your inspiration for the MAD LM.C?
M: Well we consider them a totally different band, it was about four years into forming LM.C when they suddenly appeared.

Q: What is different about this newest album to albums you have released in the past?
A: Well its always been our target to make songs that everybody can listen to and enjoy but we think this new album is more merry and has more party type songs.

Q: What did you think of each other when you first met?
A: I don’t really remember much but I didn’t really think anything he was very impression less, weak, and unfortunate kind of being.
C: -laughs- How harsh..
M: Same here -laughs-

Q: If you lost one of your finger do you think the others would be lonely?
A: If I lost any of them I would feel lonely -laughs- It doesn’t  matter which. Maybe my thumb…

Q: Do you have any special talents?
M: I can move my ears, can you see?
C: -laughs-
T: He just moved it, did you see?
C: -no response really-
M: Well, I can do that -laughs-
A: Nothing comes up particularly

Q: What was it like gathering the fans voices for Hoshi No Arika?
M: We gathered them by e-mail and we got so many reactions and replies that we were so happy but at the same time there were so many that it was hard work to put them together.

Q: Do you have any tattoos or do you like tattoos?
A: I do have some on my fingers but I can’t say if I like tattoos or not, they hurt so I don’t really like getting them.
M: I don’t have any so I’m considering one

Q: What is your favorite song to perform live?
M: Recently its been LET ME’ CRAZY
A: Well recently for me from the new album its been GAME OF LIFE

Q: First how are you, and Maya do you like Gackt?
M: I’m good and Gackt? I love him.

Q: Do you watch any American TV shows?
M: I really don’t know any so if there are any good ones let me know
A: I watch Heros a lot and Prison Break

Q: Do you have any fetishes?
M: Like what? Give us an example of yours
C: -laughs-

Q: Do you know about the MAD FAMILY?
M: You mean like on twitter? Ah, yes I see their names a lot. Are you part of the Family?
F: Yes
M: Ah thank you, and yes I know

Q: What ever happened to your internet bride?
(N: Bit of a translation problem until Maya figured out what she was asking)
M: Ahhh you mean the one from the magazine? I got so many responses, and I’m still checking one by one -laughs-

Q: Has any fans ever proposed to you?
M: They do it a lot
F: Can I right now?
M: Its free to ask

Q: Do you ever pull pranks on each other?
A: Not at all
M: Were adults after all -laughs-

Q: Do you like video games if so what are your favorite ones?
A: I really love video games and even today between panels I was playing them. Like Katamari Damashii (Katamari Damacy)
C: Ohhh
M: Do you guys know Katamari Damashii?
C: Yes
M: I don’t really play games that much, but if I do I play them I play some of the Mario series.
A: I noticed some of the Mario cosplayers too -laughs-

Q: What is your future ambition
A: I want to have an American tour

Q: Do you guys have a favorite color and what is it?
M: Kuro.. Black (says in English)
A: Recently I’ve liked the color white

Q: Have you ever considered dying your hair green?
M: Personally, no -laughs-
A: I have, I wouldn’t mind doing it sometime

M + A: Of course!

Q: If you could do a two man tour who would you want to tour with?
A: If we were going to have a tour together I would want to choose someone who we have good relationships with so we would probably choose Dir En Grey or Plastic Tree..
